Here is some info about the courses for Saturday. Full meet notes should be on the
WCOC web site this evening.
The courses
There are two A meet sprints and a third Final sprint to determine the Sprint Series Champion. Everyone not making the final may run the Champs course after the Finals are complete, for a $10 donation to the US Team. There are three different courses offered for the first two sprints.
For Sprint A the distances, climb and number of controls are as follows:
Course 1 (White/Yellow): 1.06 km, climb 24m, 6 controls
Course 2 (Orange/Brown/Green): 1.71 km, climb 33m, 12 controls
Course 3 (Red/Blue): 2.22 km, climb 51m, 15 controls
For Sprint B the distances, climb and number of controls are as follows:
Course 1 (White/Yellow): 1.20 km, climb 21m, 7 controls
Course 2 (Orange/Brown/Green): 1.80 km, climb 43m, 10 controls
Course 3 (Red/Blue): 2.33 km, climb 52m, 13 controls
Scoring for the each of the first two sprints will be as follows:
Course 1: 30, 29, 28?
Course 2: 40, 39, 38?
Course 3: 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 78, 76, 74, 72, 70, 69, 68?
Points scored for each of the two sprints, men and women scored separately. The top 6 men and 6 women overall in the series (best 6 previous sprints, plus each sprints here) advance to the finals. Ties are broken by points scored in Sprint B, then by points scored in Sprint A, and finally by a coin flip if needed.
For the Sprint Final the distance, climb and number of controls are as follows:
Final Course: 3.15 km, climb 33m, 21 controls
