Thanks, me too! Need to let my competitive side come out and play more often. It feels mighty good. :)

I like how the only place where you "lost time" was the finish chute, where the youngsters could finally run flat out. But props to Nicole Aleksieva, who lost less time than you (all on the first control); looks like she took a bit to get herself oriented, and then was rock steady the whole way.

Yes, she's picking it up fast. Fun to watch! Valerie, I'm glad you got out. Lots of logistical challenges at that venue, but lovely woods. To include the hilltops that are repeater-worthy!

Ok, I suck at counting contour lines, but the start to 1 was a massive uphill, especially for Nicole's stubby little legs and my massiveness. Nicole had the added disadvantage of coming to the Finish sawhorse in the wrong location on her route to 2 and thinking she had overshot her turn. Indistinct leaf covered trail couldn't have helped.

So, yes, props to Nicole! I will have to step up my fitness to keep ahead of this rapidly improving seven year old. She gets it!

And, Tori, thanks for the Campbell family help. So many little things to get set up. Appreciative of the fact that I can nod and point and you and Jon get what I am getting at. Enjoyed having Peter come along up the hill as well, and that was my choice. We were in the same boat with inappropriate footwear, sliding around in our shoes, but giving him a walking stick helped, and Peter was uncontrary as well. Always a plus.

Hee hee! He likes adventuring with you. Always glad to help - and appreciate that you always have something and can articulate what needs to be done. Not one of my personal strengths, I usually prefer to just do things myself...

Am working on the handing off of tasks, and mastering the grunt and point. Used to doing it all myself as well. So happy to have people that love the same geekiness as me.
