I almost never ride on roads, especially in towns, but I made an exception in Graz, Austria last week when a friend wanted to give us a city tour on bikes. We crossed dozens of streetcar tracks, then there was a spot where I had to duck left into traffic because of a construction barrier extending out from the sidewalk. I thought I had the angle right, but I couldn't believe how quickly my wheel got sucked in and stopped abruptly. I was lucky to escape with various scraped appendages and a stretched hip, and now I have an even healthier fear of streetcar tracks than I already had.

Bummer! Though perhaps just as well you aren't registered for COCs for added frustration.
BTW, I suppose this lowers the odds of your seeing the Duke before he heads to Europe - last chance for you to get the gaiters to me before WOC. Or anyone in Toronto going to COCs. You may just have to wear them through another rogaine.
