Thanks to Valerie, Jon and the many other volunteers for a terrific weekend - well worth the drive down from Canada!
I agree. Beautiful terrain and fine event.
And, the cold does not seem so bad, at least compared to the raw rainy day we are experiencing today.
We're having a snowstorm up here. Much better.
Gee, what sort of an A-meet is it if nobody on AP is coming up with complaints about the terrain, the maps, the course setting, the results, the overall organization, ... ? Thanks so very much to everyone involved for giving us such a really fun weekend!
I can only speak on the Night Champs but they were very well organized on an excellent (as far as I noticed) map! My only complaint (had to come up with something) is that the awards "ceremony" was not held right after the race, so that some people, like myself, were back home already, hundreds of miles away, when the medals were handed out the next day.
BTW, is anyone still using RouteGadget? I have, unsuccessfully, tried several times to upload my GPS route...
Mattias, I have your medal for action. You were supposed to spend the weekend with us, not just swoop in, win M-21+ (again!), and depart with the hardware. Besides, it was so damn cold that the flowers froze. ;-)
There are several GPS routes uploaded to RG, but I just tried to do mine - no joy. Will try again in the morning on another computer.
I noticed the Ultralong Orange-Blue is labeled as Night-O, maybe that is causing some problems?
Thanks, Julie for pointing that out...all fixed now. Just an issue with not noticing what auto fill for the title had taken place when I put the UL event up. Should not affect uploading routes.
I thought maybe if people didn't realize they were loading into the wrong map, it would create a problem.
Good thought. I will check that as well. Thank you.
cii00me9, you can't upload your gps track because your track goes past midnight. Track beings 23:07:07 and ends 00:23:02 (timestamps in gps file).
RG at vmeyer's site so old version it sill has that bug. if you edit your gpx file by replacing 14T23 with 14T22 and then 15T00 with 14T23 it should upload. But updating RG version might not do much harm - that's not the only fixed bug and there is some new features too.
Ah, the dreaded midnight night-O bug. Back when Charlie and I were doing results, the first time we did a night-O, Charlie realized in the middle of the event that things were going to blow up at the witching hour. And he managed to fix the bug on the fly while people were finishing without missing a beat. I was duly impressed.
Thanks for the explanation, jagge. I will request that QOC update the RG installation.
Valerie, regarding.."supposed to spend the weekend with us..." However much I wanted to spend the full weekend with you, sometimes remaining married is more important :) I was happy I could make it to the for me most important event of the three.
Yes, well, it is good to have one's priorities straight. :)
The QOC RG site has been updated. Please try uploading your tracks again. It should work now.
worked for me now, when it didn't before. thanks!
FYI: although I have updated QOC's RG installation, I have not had time to test it, so caveat emptor. [And you're aware of what you're paying for this, yes?]
I also notice that few other clubs seem to have installed this (newest) version; most have versions comparable to our last update (April 2014) if not ones much older.
